I felt that this program was similar to just fowarding a document to someone over any email. Although this may be the case, it is just another way to transfer information to someone and have them help you edit a document.
If you forward a document and then edit it, you are just creating multiple different drafts for each person that works on it. Google Docs allows for 1 draft to be worked on collaboratively.
